We are teaming up with several programs in Israel including the brand new Shaarei Nefesh program, to bring healing to those that need it most
Shaare Nefesh Resilience Center
The start
The Shaare Nefesh Resilience Center, operating under Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, is a pioneering clinic offering Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) for individuals dealing with trauma, in the wake of the October 7th attack and ongoing war. Established in response to rising needs from the recent war and made possible through a generous donation and support from the Jerusalem Foundation, the project launched six months ago and has already trained dozens of Arabic, Hebrew, and English-speaking professionals who will provide treatment to Jerusalem's diverse populations.
Directed by Dr. Sinai Oren, an experienced psychiatrist familiar with this type of work, the center comprises a team of experienced therapists specializing in trauma treatment and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. The center promotes responsible, research-based knowledge and raises awareness of this innovative approach, combining psychotherapy and ketamine.
The center will be offering both individual and group therapies, accompanied by supportive psychotherapy tailored to patients struggling with treatment-resistant depression, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), addiction, and other severe stress-related conditions. Additionally, the center provides support and guidance to family members and caregivers of patients.
International Collaboration and Advanced Research
Through research collaborations with medical centers worldwide, the Shaare Nefesh Resilience Center is developing evidence-based therapeutic methods that promote mental health in diverse populations. This commitment positions the center as a leader in the field, blending cutting-edge research and clinical excellence at the highest standards.
Collaboration wit HOH:
Healing Our Heroes Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has been at the forefront of innovative trauma treatment for American veterans. Founded with the mission to reduce veteran suicides, HOH has developed a comprehensive healing program that combines ketamine-assisted psychotherapy with group therapy, individual counseling, and holistic wellness activities. Their approach has shown remarkable success in addressing PTSD and trauma among U.S. veterans.
Building on their experience with multiple successful ketamine retreats in the United States, HOH is now looking to expand their reach to support Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), ZAKA or Magen David ( medical first respons) eservice members affected by recent traumatic events.
In collaboration with Shaare Nefesh Resilience Center, HOH will team up to create groundbreaking ketamine-assisted psychotherapy retreats in Israel, utlizing the their successful program that has already worked with over 70 American veterans. This initiative aims to provide crucial mental health support to heroes who have faced unimaginable horrors, helping them heal from trauma and PTSD.
What happens after?
The HOH retreats in Israel would be part of a broader treatment program, which includes pre-retreat preparation, a 3-4 day intensive retreat, and post-retreat integration sessions, as well as continued care as part of the Shaarei Nefesh clinic or one of our other clinic partners in Israel. This comprehensive approach, combining ketamine treatments with various therapeutic modalities such as Internal Family Systems, somatic therapy, and art therapy, has shown profound results in promoting sustainable healing and recovery among veterans. We envision holding such a retreat in a natural setting in Jerusalem or elsehwere in Israel and in the USA, allowing for an immersive yet accessible event. We imagine a robust preparation and integration process, both virtual and in-person, with potential research done as well as continued treatment through one of our partners.
